The cultural treasures of western Härjedalen
There are so many genuine and unique cultural expressions in Härjedalen.
Arts, crafts, legends, languages and folk music. Everything originated from the conditions of mountain nature. The use of forests, agriculture and reindeer husbandry has characterized cultural life for generations.
The festival takes advantage of these treasures through several program items.
Folk music in fäbod – Lectures – Exhibitions – Sami culture and Workshops etc. in collaboration with local cultural life.
Folk music from Härjedalen in Djupdalsvallens fäbodar with Anders Thunell – violin, Greger Brändström – violin, Lasse Sörlin – violin
Young stars from the region
We invest in the young musicians in Härjedalen. An important and exciting work in a collaboration with kulturskolan in Härjedalen. Children and young people together with their educators are invited to the festival. There they get to meet and play with and get coaching from the festival stars. Important inspirational meetings for both the children and the artists.
Do not miss the concert “Rising stars from Härjedalen – Wednesday 20 September- free admission”, then you will have the chance to experience the stars of the future first of all.

Exhibition and associated performance you get to follow three generations of creation in different art forms.
We exhibit handicrafts by Jon Artur Renhuvud (1946-2016) art by Madeleine Renhuvud, created from Jon
Artur’s handicrafts, and dance films by Marika Renhuvud, created from Madeleine’s art.
Chamber music
Chamber music is the heart of the festival. The choice of repertoire reflects some of the main works of great composers. Music that has characterized Western culture for several centuries.
It is a privilege to perform these magnificent works in this environment of nature and culture that Funäsfjällen offers. In addition, in small churches that create a very close meeting between the performers and the audience.
